API是 American Petroleum Institute 即:“美國(guó)石油學(xué)會(huì)”的縮略語(yǔ)。API 組織成立于1919年。該組織根據(jù)行業(yè)的特點(diǎn)和行業(yè)內(nèi)自身的需要。在1924年制定了API規(guī)范,對(duì)石油行業(yè)相關(guān)產(chǎn)品的生產(chǎn)進(jìn)行了技術(shù)規(guī)范指導(dǎo)。由于 API組織制定的API規(guī)范以其先進(jìn)性、通用性、安全性以及美國(guó)石油產(chǎn)業(yè)在世界范圍內(nèi)的影響力不斷擴(kuò)大,API規(guī)范已經(jīng)為世界各國(guó)廣泛采用。因此,API 組織原來意義上美國(guó)石油行業(yè)的學(xué)術(shù)組織,如今,已演變?yōu)榭缭絿?guó)界的石油行業(yè)權(quán)威學(xué)術(shù)組織。
